Bird Houses

Today Emma attended a talk by a naturalist at the Harris Nature Center. She learned about blue birds and different places that birds like to build homes. She built a house for small birds (chickadees, etc) and when we came home we hung it on a tree in our yard. She plans to check it every day after school for signs of a nest.

Emma loses her first tooth!

It all began with a cucumber... On Sunday Emma was eating a whole cucumber and noticed that her tooth felt funny. On closer inspection she discovered that her lower front left tooth was loose. Two days later she came in from recess at Marble School and realized that she no longer had the tooth. It was really lost! Coincidentally, that was also the day of Emma & Joe's first dental appointment with Dr. Klein. Dr. Klein called the tooth fairy explaining that Emma did not have a tooth to put under her pillow and he wrote a note in case the tooth fairy forgot about the phone messsage. In this case Emma felt it was best to be sure with a call and a note. Here are pictures of Emma examining her loose tooth and holding the dollar with fairy dust on it that she found under her pillow.

E is for Elmo

"E is for Elmo, that's good enough for me. Elmo, Elmo, Elmo starts with E." This message was brought to you by the letter "J" and the number 2 1/2.

Haircuts

We didn't get much done during the MSU spring break, but three of us did manage to get haircuts.

Pirate Solidarity

Joe's opthomologist has asked him to wear a patch 2 hours a day, 3 days a week to strengthen his right eye. Today we gave it a try. Emma joined Joe in pirate solidarity.

Jackson Children's Symphony

This weekend Anna Celenza visited to do her reading and book signing with the Jackson Symphony. This is an annual event to introduce children to classical music and instruments. Emma had a great time. There was face painting, arts and crafts, and an instument "petting zoo." Emma tried a lot of instruments and hopefully will choose one soon. The first picture is Anna signing books.

Strings

Maybe something quiet and peaceful?

Woodwinds

Emma thinks that she will choose the flute. Unfortunately, all of the photos I took of her with the flute are blurry. I told Emma that aunt Joy would think it is a good choice because it is easier to carry than the cello. Afterall, you choose it; you carry it!

Brass

Perhaps the sax?

Percussion

Still searching for an instrument....

Paul Thomas' Baptism

Chris and Emma went to Atlanta last weekend to attend baby Paul's baptism. Emma took two disposable cameras and these are some of the photos she and Chris took. The photos are Paul Thomas sleeping, the Frilingos family (minus Jennifer and Evan) after the baptism, Emma and her other cousin Evan (9 mos) with Aunt Jen, and Emma with Megan.
