The Conlin crew gave Joe a Mo Willems combination "Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late" pjs and book. Joe put them on and asked his Papou to read his book to him. And finally, Joe the birthday boy, went to bed.

Class Party

The birthday boy

Joe reading (yes, READING!!!!!) a book to his class with Mrs. Olance.
Joe had a party in his class this afternoon. He passed out cupcakes with the number "6" and he gave each kid a Animal Planet activity book. He was very happy to wear the birthday hat.

Earth Day Birthday

Yesterday was Chris's birthday. We had a celebration with the kids and then went out to dinner on our own. Joe was in a foul mood when he figured out that it wasn't his birthday but his Dad's birthday. He refused to make Chris a birthday card, he opened Chris's gifts and said that they were his, AND, everytime I said "today is Dad's birthday" he sang "Happy Birthday" as loud as he could to himself. Joe calls himself "Joey" in Happy Birthday to make a point and extend his name as long as possible. The good news is, he is really aware of his birthday this year and is beginning to understand time, as in this week. The bad news is, Chris's birthday comes first every year.

Spring, Finally!

Sidewalk Chalk

Joe has begun to write his name!

The weather was beautiful yesterday. After Emma's soccer game we went to see Max and Ruby at the Wharton Center (Performing Arts Center on Campus). We spent the rest of the day outside. Joe & Emma decided that our patio needed some more color.

Thunderbirds

The t-birds had their first game today. They played well against the Okemos team with a final score of 2-2. Emma was tired at the end of the game but happy to be playing soccer again.

Food Drive

Emma donated food to the Michigan Food Drive on Saturday and in return was allowed to sit on the food bus and honk the horn. The volunteers collected 1,810.00 pounds of food and $304.00 cash. Not bad for a Saturday afternoon.

Cupcakes

This afternoon we made cupcakes and frosting to bring to the basketball party tonight. I was very impressed that Joe frosted his own cupcakes. I guess his 5 1/2 years of OT are finally paying off.

Go State!

March Madness

Emma & Joe went to the Spartan send-off yesterday afternoon. They lined up on Grand River Avenue with the college students and waved to the bus. Both were dressed in Spartan gear, although Joe did not like his tattoo and asked for it to be removed. Here is Emma, happy for the opportunity to wear her Final Four tee-shirt.
