Teddy Bear Picnic
Today Emma finished her bear unit in first grade with the annual Teddy Bear picnic. All of the first graders sang songs, recited poems, and went on an imaginary bear hunt. Joe. Chris, and I met Emma at school, watched her perform and enjoyed a picnic lunch together.

Buddy Walk 2006
Today we went to the annual Buddy Walk in downtown Lansing. Joe walked for a bit and then caught a ride in his friend Aaron's wagon. Besides the walk and lunch, the kids enjoyed drumming.

Apple picking
Today was the perfect day for apple picking. We visited a local family-owned orchard and picked a big bag of Macintosh apples. It was a great morning with the exception of Emma being attacked by an angry ant.

Back to School!
Joe and Emma go back to school on Tuesday. Yesterday we went to Pinecrest Elementary to meet Joe's new teacher Miss Kristy. Joe will be in her pre-primary classroom every morning from 9-11:30 AM. On Tue/Thr he will also go to Spartan for the afternoon. Just like last semester, Joe will be taking the bus! Here he is getting to know Miss Kristy.
