One less appointment to keep!

Joe loving Zingerman's after a 3-hour doctor's appointment at Kellogg Eye Center, Ann Arbor. I'm happy to report that Joe has graduated from the center and will now only need to see the family optometrist.

Feeling the love from MSU hockey players....

Last semester Chris had 2 MSU hockey players in one of his classes. By coincidence, the entire MSU hockey team volunteered at the all-abilities trick-or-treat that Joe attended last October where we saw these 2 students. I am sure they were surprised to meet Joe, but never said anything more about it. Today, Chris found a hockey stick in his office that the students had every member of the hockey team sign for Joe. I know I can be a hard-boiled prof., but this really choked me up.

Joe has been asking to have a sleepover with a friend since this past summer.  It has been difficult to find a friend who is able to sleep at our house, and further complicated because Joe's best friend is a girl.  It was very exciting for him when Jackson invited Joe to sleepover tonight.  For the past couple of days Joe has woken up and said, "today is Thursday, on Saturday I will ride a horse and then sleep at Jackson's house."  The night is here and Joe has left with Jackson's family for dinner at the Pizza House and then fun and games at Jackson's house.  All my fingers are crossed for good night!

Emma is ringing in the new year with lots of sleep overs.  This one was at our house.  Joe joined the party early in the morning when no one was awake.
